Featured Customer Testimonials in our San Francisco Studio
Innovaccer needed real customers to provide testimonials on their healthcare AI products. We recorded three customers from different organizations to provide natural and unscripted feedback on their experience of using Innovaccer products within their organization.
Each testimonial was recorded with a two-camera set-up with our Sony FX3’s, which is our standard testimonial recording set-up at 415Headshots Inc. One of the cameras provides us with a wide angle and one with a close-up angle, both recording simultaneously. The cameras were paired with RODE microphones to capture the audio.
To convey an authentic testimonial, we did not use any teleprompter or script. Instead, we asked each customer questions, right then and there, to record their experience told in their own words.
At 415Headshots Inc., we prefer not to use any scripts to avoid any scripted or “stiff” testimonials. These come across as staged and may not convert potential customers.

Types of Customer Testimonial Videos We Produce in San Francisco
Customer testimonials are videos that capture the experience of a customer in regard to your company’s service or product. They are a type of video, not just a single format. Testimonial video production varies from company to company. The right format depends on where the customer will upload the video, which marketing channels will use the video, and who the viewer audience is. At 415Headshots, we specialize in producing the testimonials listed below:
Customer Testimonial Videos
Customer testimonials capture the experience of customers using a product, whether it’s a physical product, service, or software. These are built for landing pages, social media, hero sections of websites, and sales pitches. At 415Headshots, we capture these in our standard two-camera format with audio in our studio or at their desired location.
Client Success Story Videos
Client success stories showcase how a client was able to tackle a problem or achieve a certain goal after using a specific product or service. These videos are usually longer than a normal testimonial and can range from two to seven minutes. At 415Headshots, we edit these videos to include b-roll of the client’s environment, supporting interview from other staff, and have a story arc. These are great for marketing teams to showcase at conferences or case-study landing pages.
Employee Testimonial Videos
Employee testimonials capture the internal experiences about working at a company. These videos can be used for LinkedIn posts when hiring, career landing pages, and recruiting materials. At 415Headshots, we use our standard two-camera set-up to record these and may interweave B-roll of the company’s office within the video.
Influencer Testimonial Videos
Influencer testimonials capture a popular personality sharing their experience about your brand or product. These testimonials are recorded at a higher production level and paired with B-roll of the influencer within their environment interacting with your product. These are perfect for industries that you need a credibility boost, such as finance, B2C products, or regulated industries.
Event Testimonial Videos
Event testimonials record the experience of attendees at annual events, conferences, or summits. These are perfect to use in sizzler reels to showcase the energy of the event and to help market next year’s event.
Before-and-After Testimonial Videos
These testimonials capture how a customer navigated their workflow before-and-after your product was introduced to them. These are perfect for products or services that have a significant impact on users. At 415Headshots, we record these types of testimonials for certain B2C product companies, fitness startups, healthcare, and B2B SaaS.

Behind the Scenes of Testimonial Production at 415Headshots
Why San Francisco Companies Choose 415Headshots for Testimonial Videos
Our background is headshots. Our team has over 5 years of experience in directing thousands of team members, executives, and professionals through a headshot process. We have the skill to help people relax in front of the camera. This skill translates directly to help a customer deliver an authentic and believable testimonial in our studio.
When recording testimonials, we coach all customers through pacing their voice, body language and posture, and how to have the right eye contact between the cameras. This coaching is what helps the final testimonial to sound like a person recommending a product versus just another scripted testimonial.
Our Studio Is Built For Testimonials
The 415Headshots studio is purposely built to record testimonials and interviews and we can create this framing at your office or your client’s location. At a minimum, we have two Sony cameras recording the customer for a wide and close-up angle. The lighting is set for a more natural, sit-down conversational set-up versus corporate lighting. And, lastly, the audio is set to minimize any room echo and to capture the customers crisp voice.
This means that when clients arrive to our San Francisco studio, the entire process is already streamlined and set-up beforehand. We usually prep our clients to adjust their wardrobe and hair and we start recording. There isn’t any time wasted for set-up or location hunting.
Post-Production Is Designed Around Sales and Marketing
We record every testimonial around knowing where it will be used, e.g. LinkedIn, your product landing page, or a sales deck. For example, we edit longer versions of the testimonial for your sales team to use in calls with potential customers or for pitch decks. We usually edit 30-second clips of the testimonial for your paid ad content. And from the horizontal recordings, we edit a 9:16 vertical format for social media reels, such as LinkedIn or Instagram. All of these final videos come from the original testimonial that we recorded with the customer.
Lastly, your final and raw video files are saved in our 415Headshots’ archive for one year. If your marketing team comes back six months after the recording, we can always produce new ad content or social media content without shooting again.
The 415Headshots Testimonial Video Production Process
1. Discovery and Customer Selection
The initial conversation is usually 30 minutes with our team and your project manager. We discuss what goal the testimonials have to accomplish (e..g. landing page conversion, recruiting, customer marketing, social media content, etc.), how many customers you’d like to record, what final edits your team would like, and what customers would provide the strongest testimonials.
2. Pre-Production with the Customer
We send each subject guidelines on what to wear, what to expect, scheduled time to shoot, and general topics we’ll cover. At 415Headshots, we prefer not to send questions we’ll ask beforehand, as that may result in scripting or memorization of answers from the customers. If customers are coming from out of town or if you’d like to shoot at your location, we can also make arrangements during this process.
3. Shoot Day
At our San Francisco studio, we’ll take care of hair and make-up of the subject, if requested, and mic them up to begin recording. We’ll mention the questions before we start shooting so the subjects aren’t thrown off-guard during the recording. We record multiple takes for each individual to make sure we have the right content to edit with. For testimonial production, we do ask the subject to provide their name and company they work with and how the specific product/service changed how they work or affected their day-to-day.
4. Post-Production and Delivery
Each testimonial will be edited and formatted to meet the deliverables that were agreed upon. Standard testimonial deliverables include a long-form cut (anywhere from two to seven minutes), a shorter cut (about one minute long), and a social media edit (9:16 format and about 30 seconds long). For testimonial deliverables, we can add graphics of the person’s name, the company logo, and subtitles, if you prefer. Final deliverables are sent in 4K and can be color-graded to match your company’s theme.
San Francisco Testimonial Video Production FAQs
-
Most likely, yes! We recommend all businesses have testimonial videos to showcase previous customer experiences. These videos help build trust with potential customers that are looking at your company’s product or service. They convey the authentic social proof that may convert potential buyers into real customers. It doesn’t matter what industry you’re in or if you sell physical products versus software, testimonials will help in your marketing.
-
Testimonial video production pricing is significantly dependent on the type of production you’re looking for. Variables that affect pricing include how many individuals would need testimonials, different camera angles you’d prefer, if you’d prefer b-roll to be incorporated within the edited video, the final video deliverables you’d need, and where’d you like to film. From our experience, testimonial video production usually starts around $1,000 for our professional set-up with two cameras, audio, and lights.
-
We shoot anywhere you’d like us to! We’ve recorded testimonials in ghost kitchens, biotech labs in South SF, offices all over the Bay Area, tech incubator spaces, event spaces and venues, hotels, and at our studio in San Francisco. For on-location shoots, we do recommend that we have enough space to set-up our equipment (audio, camera, and lights), limited outside light, and some depth to capture the environment.
-
Yes! We understand that some important clients may be across the world and you’d love to capture their experience with your product. We offer high-quality Zoom recording for remote individuals to be interweaved into the final testimonial video of your company.
-
Of course! We can impose your company logo in the final video, include names of the subjects, and graphics from your team’s branding.
-
It’s a collaboration between us and the client. This widely depends on the final edited video. For example, if you’re using the video for paid content or social media, we want to ensure there are hooks that we can edit into the beginning of the video. This means that certain questions have to be asked to get an interesting answer for a hook.
-
We usually provide a standard turnaround time of 10 business days for edited videos. However, we can expedite the video editing to be done within 24 hours, if your team needs an urgent turnaround time.
-
Most of our clients are satisfied with the first draft that we deliver. However, we understand that every team has their preferences, so we include two rounds of revisions for each project.
