415Headshots Joins the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce

Hi — I’m Jasmeet Singh, owner of 415Headshots Inc., and I’m excited to share that we’re now listed as a member of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.

San Francisco is full of founders, executives, teams, and professionals who move fast, and in a city like this, your headshot isn’t a “nice-to-have.” It’s your first impression on LinkedIn, your company website, investor decks, speaker bios, and press pages.

This post is a quick “hello,” what our approach is, and a practical guide to getting a headshot that actually looks like you, not a generic version of you.

Why We Joined the SF Chamber of Commerce

We joined the SF Chamber because we want to be part of the local business community in a real way, not just working in San Francisco, but showing up for it.

You can find 415Headshots Inc on SF Chamber of Commerce listing here (including our studio address and contact info).

The “Scientific Method” Behind Our Headshots

Before I went all-in on headshots, I was a molecular biologist.
My background still shapes the way I shoot today, because the best headshots come from a process: observe → test → adjust → repeat.

Here’s the core philosophy I embody at 415Headshots:

No two people should get the same lighting.
Faces aren’t identical. Some people have a flatter facial structure. Some have a stronger brow bridge. Some have more prominent smile lines. Some have deep-set eyes, higher cheekbones, or a jawline that looks totally different depending on camera angle.

So we don’t run “one setup fits all.” We tailor it.

How we choose light (beauty dish vs umbrella vs reflector)

If you’ve never been photographed professionally, lighting gear can sound like a foreign language. Here’s what it means in real life:

Beauty dish (more structure, more crispness):
When we want a clean, confident look with more definition, especially for executive/corporate styles, a beauty dish helps shape the face and add that “polished” contrast. It can be incredible for people who want a stronger, more commanding look. I’ve noticed this works well for executives with sharper jaw lines or flatter faces. However, I’ve noticed that if you tend to be a “smiler” that beauty dishes aren’t forgiving, as they can accentuate smile lines in the face.

Umbrella (softer, more forgiving):
Umbrellas spread light wider and softer. If someone has features they’re self-conscious about (or simply wants a gentler feel), umbrellas can smooth transitions and reduce harsh shadows. Great for approachable branding, wellness, therapy, creative leaders, and honestly, plenty of corporate looks too, depending on how we place it. I’ve noticed umbrellas are more forgiving, however, they may not give you that dramatic feel that beauty dishes can give you. I’ve seen it work well for standard headshots, like ERAS headshots, but may not be great for a lawyer that wants a dramatic headshot.

Silver reflector (adds lift and brightness):
A silver reflector can add “life” to the eyes and reduce heavy shadow under the brow or nose. It’s not about making someone look different, it’s about lifting the face in a flattering way, especially if someone has deeper-set eyes or stronger shadow patterns.

And the biggest “secret” isn’t the tool, it’s the placement. Two inches left, slightly higher, a small tilt, a subtle fill… and suddenly the photo goes from “meh” to “wow, that looks like me, but better.”

That’s the scientific method part: we’re constantly measuring what the camera is doing and adjusting until the portrait fits the person.

Wardrobe Coaching Before You Arrive (Yes, We Actually Help)

A lot of people assume wardrobe doesn’t matter much.

It does, but not because you need expensive clothes. It matters because camera + lighting can do weird things to color, fit, and contrast.

Before your session, we can hop on a quick call and I’ll walk you through:

  • what colors work on you (based on your skin tone/undertone)

  • what to avoid so you don’t look washed out

  • how fit impacts your shape on camera (fit matters more than brand)

  • how to choose contrast so your face stands out

And if you truly don’t have anything that works? We can even help you shop online and send options in your price range so you’re not scrambling the night before.

It’s a headshot session, but it’s also a guided experience.

Micro-Expressions + Posing (Where the “Magic” Actually Happens)

Lighting is one piece. Coaching is the other.

During the session we guide you through:

  • micro-expressions (small changes that read as confident vs tense)

  • chin and head angles (huge difference)

  • posture and shoulder placement

  • poses that match your body type (because not every pose works for every person)

Most clients walk in saying, “I’m awkward in photos.”
Our job is to make that irrelevant, because you don’t need to “know what to do.” That’s what we’re here for.

In-Office Headshots (We Bring the Studio to You)

For teams, we also offer office headshots across San Francisco and the Bay Area.

We bring a compact, professional setup, studio lights and equipment, without needing a huge production footprint. The point is: your team gets a consistent, studio-quality look without everyone commuting or losing half a day.

Teams We’ve Worked With

Over the years we’ve photographed individual professionals and teams for companies like JPMorgan, Salesforce, Fox, Innovaccer, DocuSign (and more).

If you’re a team lead or founder, you already know this: consistent, high-quality headshots instantly raise the perceived professionalism of your brand.
